Free energy saving plug + water widget

Modern tech uses hardly any power in standby. Not anywhere as much as is made out. I,m sure it was the gadget show or something similiar did tests and showed this...

But seeing as its free, would be rude not too......

It was, and recently too, they looked at how much a year it would cost to have your television on for like 3-6 hours a day, it was really surprising in terms of cost :).

It's not free, you pay for it with your tax $$ :p

We already got sent a flow restrictor in the post last year (govt again), which we dutifully installed. Shower was like a sandblaster before, now it's a bit of a trickle :p But hey, I'm cheap, so I live with it :p

But even a tightwad like me is struggling to see what that socket thing is for? You put your TV in standby and it turns all your household electrical devices off? Sounds odd.

Thats if all of your household appliances are connect to one plug socket, or you investing in quite a few :)?

Got mine. Plug is handy for TV in bedroom as it gets rid of the annoying standby light, which is bright BLUE.

Though I wonder what the lifecycle saving are on one of them plugs, taking into account the cost and energy needed to manufacture them . . . .
I bet we would be better off without them!
I have had one on my PC for a couple of years now, as it shuts down monitors, printers etc.
