Will i get a parking fine?

Just nipped in for a quick haircut at my local barbers and the only place to park was round the corner on a normal (not busy) road with double yellows down either side accept for a short stretch of road with space for about 8 parked cars. There is a sign that says "Permit Holders Only 6am - 8pm" but i've always parked in one of these spaces as the last few are always empty and i'm never longer than 15mins.

This time however as i walked towards my car I passed a traffic Warden who looked as though he was coming away from my car. I checked my car but couldn't see any tickets and the only thing he said to me as he passed was "Hello"

So whats the chances of me getting a fine, do they have to ticket me or can they just take a note of my Reg. etc. and if i am going to be fined how much is it likely to be?

Btw he didn't look like an official/council type traffic warden

Sorry for all the dumb questions but after 20+ years of driving i've never had a parking fine :(

No, the only place you be bothered to park was round the corner. There will have been numerous other places to park, you just couldn't be bothered to walk :p

Now we've got that out of the way, I suspect no ticket no fine.
