You really don't need to open/forward ports unless you're running an extremely strict firewall setup (99% of people on here won't be).

edit: People that are having problems - what ISP and router are you using?

Or are behind a NAT router, in which case you definitely will need to open ports. (either by uPNP or manually). :)

The majority of NAT routers won't be blocking outgoing connections so you don't need to mess with ports. Perhaps if you were hosting your own games - which obviously doesn't apply to BFBC2.

Can anyone with super antispyware run a scan and see if it reports a trojan in the BC2 punkbuster folder as it is with mine.

Trojan.Agent/Gen-FakeAlert[Local].Process

NOD32 or malwarebytes doesnt pick it up is it a false positive?

I have only just found out about the "Q" spot. Do many people actually use this? im not to sure exactly what it does and how it works but i'll have to have a play around with it :)

Every time, without fail i hit Q before clicking the fire button, i may lose a fraction of a second on the draw but it means if i dont manage to kill him and he runs off, or worse he kills me, a teammate will pick him off and i'll only be out 10-20 points on the kill. I think it helps a lot with teamwork, certainly if u find urself on the UAV hang back a bit and help spot for ur team, u wont get as many points as if u were on the ground but ur team will advance much faster when they have arnie pie in the sky ;)

Fortunately you cant spam the Q button because it locks for 30 seconds if u do, so use it wisely.

This tutorial F T W, it's console but the same rules apply (and it might make u laugh):

I spot obsessively, it is essential, and it's incredibly irritating to be in a team of guys who don't spot. I've had SO many kills stolen from me by team-mates because I always spot first, but it's okay.

i ALWAYS spot before i shoot, sometimes others get your kill because i have spotted and i fire my shot at a dead dude, but its worth it... at the end of the day its a TEAM game

No worries matey i'll be on around 11pm tonight as im at work, im off sunday so i'll be there all day long :D

Getting the hang of it slowly a few kills here and there, just trying to find what suit i prefer at the mo, im like enginner so far the most, i cant seem to find out how to drop medi packs when im a medic but i'll get there soon i guess lol

Ok, well I will be on Steam just after 11 then if you fancy getting into a game together. Do you have a headset?
Whats your steam name buddy, just to double check that I have you on my friends list?

Any others wanting to join us tonight?

Not sure if I will be up quite that late but by all means add me and maybe we can grab a few rounds.

IGN: TealcSH.

Just tried the modification listed here.
Just putting the values listed in the guide didn't work at all for me. Moving my mouse about a foot (big mouse mat) turned my character by about 5 degrees. I changed In game sensitivity back to 0.4 and it seems normal now.

What I have noticed though is that searching for an ememies head to shoot seems more intuitive. I can only assume that the change makes any movement I make to the mouse linear and not accelerated artificially. So a small fast mouse movement represents the same movement on screen as a small slow mouse movement.

Turret speeds of both stationary and tank are messed up though and crazy fast. I think I need to change them down a bit.

What I did notice was that in Infantry.dbx my settings were already false and didn't need to be changed. Bit confused by that.

So seeing as we have enough people for a full squad. What time would be good for everyone to be online? Liam should be on at 11. So shall we say 11:15PM if that is good for everyone?
Who also has a headset? If you do what should we use for team chat? Does anyone have any recommendations?

Did you make the update changes to camerapitch and yaw?

Also they added the option to disable mouse smoothing in a patch I believe, I think it's disabled by default now which is why that's on false, a few of the smoothing in the others should still be true though.

Does BC have a built in friends list? I can't remember

Yeah it does. Its situated at the bottom left of the screen IIRC. Lets you see who is online, what server they are on etc.

So add me on the built in friends list thing, will make it easier to join servers.

Anyone else getting kicked from servers (not all but some) saying "disallowed program/driver" from punkbuster?

i think this might have started after i installed the latest nvidia drivers but I can't be sure.

anyone else? very annoying!

Might be the Steam community overlay.

Some people can't play with it enabled, but me and my friends have never had a problem.

Try disabling it for BC2 and see if that helps.
