Hi all,

There's a disabled bay up my road that was put in for a resident several years ago. Sadly, the guy died over the Christmas period.

Parking up my road is a bit of a pain, so I was wondering whether the council are supposed to remove these bays once the person it was put in for moves or dies?

What council? A quick google highlights a few different councils that all confirm that it should be removed and to contact the council to inform them.

Based on past experience though it will likely take a long time before the TRO is amended (e.g. the sign stating the restrictions), even if the lining gets burnt off.

Tin of black paint + 3am = job done.

This won't make any difference to the TRO, however hopefully you are joking!

Forgot about the sign.

10mm spanner + screw driver + 3am = job done.

nice thinking, saving our tax as well....

however the council will probably spend 1000's investigating who did it and if you get caught they will throw the book at you... then spend 12 months in meetings to decide that it was not needed anyway and pay a contractor to remove your black paint, then another contractor to paint over the bay with black paint...

Its funny because its true :(

Cheers chaps, I'll ring them up. It's been a few months now so obviously it's not something they do automatically. :)
