Recently my pc turned into a no go. However i will be lending my mates old Pentium4 pc. i wonder if it will play mw2? :/..
its a pentium 4 running at 3.Something ..
unsure as picking it up later.
it has 2GB Ram / geforce 5500 / a good cooler for cpu..

unsure if this will run mw2 will a graphics card upgrade achieve this ??

if you upgrade the ram to 4gb (for general perfomance improvement and gaming improvement) and possibly upgrade the graphics card, then you might be lucky and be able to play MW2

you barely meet the CPU requierments, RAM your ok but I think the GPU is your undoing, its says you need a 6600GT at the very least. Try it out it might work but you'll play at lowest 800x600 regardless

i hope it works, as its only temporary. The min Graphics card that mw2 needs is a 6600 , if i get a better one than that upgrade to 4gb ram, hope it works will let you know!

I think that is a workstation card and not a gaming card as a result DO NOT get it usless you want to make CGI images instead of playing games.

You'll be much better off with an old 8800GT

EDIT: Does it have 1 or 2 GB RAM? If 2 most likely a workstation card.

I think it's just a cruddy old card with large memory to shift money.
I certainly wouldn't be paying £60 for it.

Edit: Used AGP HD3850 maybe worth a try maybe? (Assuming the FX5500 it has now is AGP)

Surely that's an AGP based mobo so you'll be very limited with options for GPUs. Pretty sure that you can't get an 8000 series or beyond AGP card.

ok i will stick with a geforce.. much research proves this. not sure on witch one to get though can i get bigger than a 8800GT ?

It wouldn't really be worth teaming an 8800GT with a Pentium 4, let alone anything faster.
You also need to confirm if it's AGP, there were limited PCI-e FX series cards but it's doubtful that yours is one.

AGP 3850 would be one of your best bets, but even then... MW2 will run slow.
The CPU is way past its best and just doesn't cut it with modern games.

It's not worth the money to upgrade a sinking ship.
