Asking someone out over facebook...

I fail to see the creepiness here? I don't understand it myself but isn't Facebook the new primary form of communication for some or most people?

If she knows you from a night out, chatting away, getting on well, knows you by name, flirting perhaps then I'm surprised you haven't added her already. Most people do these days. I'm forever having retards I've spoke to for all of 15 minutes in my life, add me randomly to facebook. It seems to be the norm for most folk these days. I don't get it and will most likely click the decline button but it would appear I'm in the minority when it comes to that.

Add her, tell her why you added her, if that goes down well ask her out.
 
Try and comment on her status, I did that with I girl I knew but hardly saw and she commented on mine, so asked her out, it does work, facebook is so common now I would even class it as internet dating.

So many girls use it, its no different that asking for her number, at least you can do it for free and its more social and coherent without all the text type.

if not wait until you get the chance in real life to talk to her dont do this homo text message BS!

Ive not done it on facebook before but i have been asked out for a drink by a girl even tho im stated as in a relationship! :O

I also met a girl once that i met over the net but we were talking for months before meeting.

I would keep her on chat for a bit before asking her out, you will know when its ok to ask.

i don't know whats so funny about this regular rejections used to happen all the time when I was young without people quoting and saying fail.

Can't be bothered to strike up some conversation first??

At the very least poke her a few times on Facebook to let her know what is coming!

In my experience social networking sites have only been supplemental to the 'chase', changing relationship statuses as a hint, et cetera. I'd never dream of making that initial thrust over the internet.

Though I suppose some people have boundary issues even without the internet so I shouldn't be suprised.

This isn't an indictment on the OP by the way, I'm sure he had something very tasteful in mind. :p
