Hello all, I recently purchased a 120hz Dell Alienware monitor which is a really nice quality bit of kit! :)

To run at 120hz you need to use the DIV cable because as far as I know HDMI cables only run 60hzs ? is this correct?

Can I plugin the HDMI and the DVI cables at the same time?

Is there an advantage of doing this or any disadvantages ?

Cheers all

Quite correct - HDMI (even v1.4) does not have sufficient bandwidth to drive a 1080p signal with much more than a 60Hz refresh rate. Dual Link DVI however has enough bandwidth to properly accomodate the 1080p signal at 120Hz - so should be used for connecting to your PC.

I can't see there being any issues - you just select the input you want to use with the monitor's on-screen display.
