I'm just genuinely intrigued into what people did after leaving school (if school was even attended :p)

Did you go into full time employment, get an apprenticeship, study A levels/Diploma? Progress onto uni?

It seems the 'normal' way is to study in higher education at local colleges/upper 6ths then potentially move onto uni. I can't help but think a lot of students do this because they're not ready for employment/responsibility, which is a pretty common I think lol.

I went to college for two years to do a level three qualification, then started an apprenticeship in IT support. I regret not going to university sometimes, but the experiences I've had are invaluable and the people on this team are fantastic, so it worked out quite well. :)

After GCSE's I studied my A Levels, from there I progressed to university and now work in a job that has nothing to do with what I studied but interesting nonetheless.

GCSEs->A Levels->Master of Mathematics at Warwick ... 10 years pass ... Open University and, now, hopefully, PhD.

GCSEs -> AS Levels (One Year) -> 4 Year Electrical Apprenticeship

After my GCSEs I didn't want to go into full time work so I sort of fell into a 2 year A levels course - I only made it through the first year and so I moved into a 4 year electrical apprenticeship.

I can't recommend apprenticeships enough - at 16 no one knows what they want to do, at least with an apprenticeship you come out at 20/21 with a trade under your belt and the "ability to commit" phrase on your CV.

GCSE's>College 1 year>College another 2 years>Uni (Graduated) > Full time job

GCSEs > A Levels > History BA > GTP (ICT) > Teaching.

I spent three years of my degree defending it; "you don't have to be a history teacher with a history degree". I'm not, but I still bloody ended up in teaching. :D
