Hi Chaps,

Apologies if this is elsewhere on forum, I did have a good look around.

So I have the GA-X58A-UD7, installed the SilentPipe and all is fine, however as we all know it uses a lot of real estate, so is there a better chipset cooler out there for the GA-X58A-UD7 or is this the best it gets?

Lian Li PC-P80B Armorsuit
GIGABYTE X58A-UD7 rev 2.0
Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz @ 4.20GHz
Gainward GeForce GTX 470 "GOOD Edition" 1280MB GDDR5

If your OK with the room it takes you want find a better chipset cooler. I have the Rev 1 and it keeps the chipset nice and cool with no noise.

Thanks Asgard,

I don't really mind about the space, I just wasn't sure if it was "as good as it gets" I have 2xAntecSpotCool covering parts of it and I was getting temps of 10C above CPU temp.
So I thought I would ask.

I was also wondering what i can do about the cooler, i run crossfire and ive got a tv card in the very bottom pci-e slot, i want to get a better sound card as im going to buy some new speakers soon. Can i run without the hybrid silent pipe cooler? I get nb temps of arounf 45-49 degrees with it on at the moment, does it make that much difference as the pipes are only touching the fins of the cooler below? Also ive got a rev 1.0 with a water block, is there anywhere i can buy the rev 2.0 block with the fins to get slightly more cooling?
Thanks

Does it honestly make any difference as it certainly doesn't on the EX58 Extreme I have, complete waste of time and space

hmmm might rip it out and see whats the temps and stuff are like, when should i start worrying about nb temps? About 60-70 deg tops?

will i just took it out, and i used to have a low speed 80mm fan on it. I kept the fan in the same place and now my temps are lower lol now sits between 40-45 deg :D

+1 on a UD5, the mobo is designed to cope with the high temps NB, SB, but it can't do any harm using a fan as a quick fix to keep the temps that bit lower.:)
