Any decorators in here? sandpaper

Hi all,

I have put a mist coat on fresh plaster and now want to sand it back ready for the finish, is 120 grade ok for this?

TBH matey, i know lots of decorators and I don't know anyone who sands the walls down after the first coat...

all you'll do is create lots of dust, which the next layer of paint will find difficult to cling to, you'd then have to wash the walls after a sanding...

If you are papering the surface then I wouldn't worry too much.

You could use some pre used pieces of sandpaper as they will be less rough.
