I caught on one of the higher number satellite channels a while back some footage of a final of a PC gaming tournament. One look at the guys playing instantly told me none of them should be idolized. Pitied maybe, idolized never.
Not all clans are like that. True there are the hardcore ones that give each other stupid ranks like colonel, recruit and other rubbish, but the clan I am in are basically just a bunch of guys (and 1 girl) who play games together. Even when we were competitive in COD4 ladders on ED, we didn't do one minute of dull training or rubbish like that.

the thing is theres clans then theres teams 
mixing med clans is worlds of different and most gamers will be upto med standard. why med gaming clans go to big things like i series just puzzles me as your going to be ruined . could argue fun but you aint going anywhere tbh.
most pro gamers or semi pro will be high high plus and even on there worst day ruin 99 percent of people thats the difference.
it will turn out like a sport and in some countries it is seen as a sport already we are a bit behind.

Please keep your pub playing wasda'ing opinions out of the pro gaming 'idolising' thread. COD will never be a pro game, mechanics are dreadful, it does what it says on the tin and will always be a public noob-friendly game.
