thought it was not good to raid ssd drives due to TRIM support and the drive's slow right down in read and write speeds??

thought it was not good to raid ssd drives due to TRIM support and the drive's slow right down in read and write speeds??

Its the first I've heard of that, I used to run 4 Samsung's in RAID 0 and never had issues.

So don't see any issues with RAID at all.

These are compatible with SATA3, just buy a pair and RAID them for uber performance. :)

I know they are compatible, but I have 5/6 Sata II ports and 1/2 Sata III ports already filled.

Raid doesnt work on my Sata III ports because its a crappy marvel controller, and I only have one sata II port free so no more raid on there and its being saved for a blu ray drive.

I want a larger capacity SSD with Sata III read speeds that will take advantage of my remaining marvel port.

Otherwise these 120 Gb and 250 Gb are brilliantly priced, but I only want C300s at the least. I already have around 250 Mb/s read speeds on my 2 Tbs of raid 0 Samsung F3s, so these agility drives wouldnt really do much for me.

I'll just have to cross my fingers and hope that Crucial do something similar on the C300s soon.

Nah its fine. Plenty of people have been running lots of OCZ and Crucial SSDs in Raid 0 over on xtremesystems, and they report that they have been fine for years without any sign of degradation.

I was concerned when I read a comment from a crucial tech that the C300s would heavily degrade in raid 0 usage, but lots of people run multiple 64 Gb C300s in raid 0 (including 3 or 4 drive combinations), and they are completely stable and reliable for long term use. I was sad when I learnt that my mob cant manage raid 0 on its Sata III ports though or I was going to get a second 64 Gb C300 :(

Well when i bought my ssd i spoke to a chap (cant mention where as it is againts OCuk rules :p) and was I was going to get two and raid them on this P6X58D-E board and he said not to bother as it degrades in speeds MASSIVLY and to keep them as single drives AND NEVER DEFRAG THEM as that reduces the read write life cycle

Why dont you buy a SATA III Rocket Raid card with either 2 or 4 connectors for the SSDs as Im thinking of doing it so as to run 4 x C300 128gb ssd,s

Never heard of them :p
will have to have a lookeeee

I am NOT saying i have experianced raid with ssd i was just told it was not worth it so never did it,
the chap who told me was from a genuin parts website so i had/have no reason to NOT beleive him as it was theoreticly stopping me spending more money with them at the time

Maybe he did not know what the crap he was talking about

What's the difference between the agility and the vertex? Less waranty and no raid support or is there something more fundamental in the quality?

He is right about not defragging them, but he is wrong about RAID 0, you get a good speed boost and everyone I know running RAID 0 has not seen any degradation at all and I know people with Samsungs, Intels, OCZ's and Crucials all in RAID 0. Its just very fast! :D

Im curreny running 2 x c300 on my P67 intel chip and speeds are great and

These Highpoint Rocketraids are whats needed I think if you want more from Sata III

They all support RAID.

Agility is a different controller I believe and a tad slower, just compare the read/write speeds. :)

I dont really need anymore than 2 SSDs, the current 64 Gb for windows, and then a second 128 Gb for games would be more than absolute overkill.

Meh, my Raid 0 F3s are already really overkill, and thats why Sata II speeds arent too appealing to me because I already have 250 Mb/s read speeds with 2 Tb space :)

Oh my, is that far too much for that thing :p

Woud be better to just spend that on a new mobo instead, the problem is I have a great mobo that only lacks raid on Sata III, which isnt really a big deal.

Cheers :), very tempting

Im kind of being tempted even more because they look like very tasty yummy chocolate bars too .....
