Gears of War 3 Dated (Official blah blah)

Only VIP type people get all the modes at the beginning I know I have been playing the Beta for almost a week already and very bored of it now.

The dedicated servers have made a big difference but again it really is all about the Gnasher or people running behind you and stabbing with Retro Lancer also don't like how melee has become nothing now with all one shot quick kills.

For people saying Gears 2 was fixed no way in hell was it it's full of glitches and cheaters exploiting the shotgun.
 
GoW2 is far from fixed but a lot better than it used to be.

In regards to the Beta I'm loving it. The Gnasher is still strong but you can tell it's been toned down a fair bit. I'd say about 80% of my kills as well are with the Lancer and there is nothing more satifying than dunking the scoreboard on top of people on Thrashball!

The melee does seem a bit meh and how are people doing that thing where they leap over cover and kick you?

I take it back, i feel bitter over the bullet storm purchase now !

Early access with 1 mode and 2 maps should have been on the bullet storm box :p

Still enjoying it though :)

I love the single player campaigns,and the horde mode is great,but the tdm and other multiplayers i hated,roly poly shotgunning is all any body does on this game,just rolling around with shotgun,rolling upto you BOOM dead then rolling away,while you standing there spraying them with lancer

I think they've balanced it a lot better in 3 but from what I've seen so far that still happens a lot lol :p
 
They definitely seem to have balanced things out as while it's still prolific I haven't fallen foul of the rolly polly as much as I used to in 2. I think it's partially down to the weapons being tweaked and I think the map design seems better in this one in my opinion.
 
most of the time when i use to play,i would be hugging the wall and just about to take a peak around a corner,to have a little scout about,and some clown rolls right next to me and chops me in half with chainsaw then runs away with his little trollface

That's what I did, including troll face, except I used the sticky grenades.

The mental image of that including the trollface got a genuine lol from me, I also imagined it with the Leo Decaprio running gif :D

I only really played horde mode in GoW2 but I was pretty lucky that I had set group i'd always play with so we'd fly through a lot of the waves as 2 of them were really good and knew how to organise the rest.
 
Few questions,

How do you stick the frag grenades to the wall's ?? so it acts like a mine ??

I have read if you press the left stick in on an enemy it "spots" them ? whats this all about ??

How do u perform the different executions ?? is it just "X" for them all but its random ?
 
a. Press melee (B) against a surface while holding a grenade and it'll plant it like a mine.

b. I'd imagine it'll bring up a visual indicator to people on your team akin to when someone on you team is down you get the 'cross' come up to direct you to them.

c. I think it'll be similar to GoW2 where you press the other buttons but I'd imagine you will need to unlock the execution for that weapon first. Think it's 'y' you press

Was anyone having issues conencting to games yesterday?

It kept going through searching for games 1-50 etc and just then chucking me on to a server where it would be 4 V 1 etc. It was like that for most of last night for me :(

No problems for me :) although it did keep connecting me with Asian guys, had no idea what they were saying and had to mute the headphones.
 
At least you've joined games where people talk! The only games I've had someone to talk to is when I've played with my mate.

It was really weird as i'd say 2/3's of my games last night it was having to really tihnk about getting a game and then would stick me in one like mentioned before but the rest it was just picking games up in a flash and not a problem at all. My NAT is all open etc, I just put it down to them testing what happens when they tweak stuff with the servers. (i'm assuming the beta is on the same dedi's that retail will be using and that is kinda the point of a beta test)
 
SO, people's thoughts on the Retro lancer?
Loving it, found it hard to survive without the Gnasher shotgun, but i love the 1 hit gibbyness of the Sawn off shotgun, retro lancer fills the void, its a beast at close - close/mid range.

Completely lacking range though, end up sprinting for a revolver when ever possible.
 
Is it true that anyone can download the beta now from the internet and load it onto a memory stick to the 360 ?

Anyone else heard this ?
