Not seen the original film but have read the book and quite enjoyed it.

Having just watched the trailers for both films I'm looking forward to seeing both of them now.

Actually looks scene for scene very similar to the original film, will be interesting to see how it is implemented.

If Hollywood was going to do remake of a forgien film, you can't go much wrong with David Fincher!!!! I haven't got round to watching the orginal films yet, but i'll give this a try

EDIT - Looks like a big budget film of the recent Nikita TV series

The original film (in fact all three films) are some of my favorite films.

You're spot on with that though, I doubt very much the female lead will be half as good as Noomi Rapace.

I watched the lot the dubbed versions mind and they were good, sadly I watched them out of order, 1-3-2 kicked myself for doing that.

Either it does something different to the Swedish films, in which case it will get panned for "dumbing down", or it'll be identical, and therefore

Daniel Craig strikes me as too young for the lead character, but at least he's a more believable mack daddy than Steig Larsson could ever wish he was.
