Has anybody ever done this?

Not exactly pushed for money but a trial came up which would give me a handy 1800 to play with. I dont start graduate work until august and with holidays I could do with some spending money. Few nights overnight, few appointments over a month and thats it. Not too sure what the testing involves throughout the stays etc so was looking information on what exactly they do? Living conditions pretty poo? I believe the study is an anti-diabetic drug to improve glycemic control so I cant imagine a great deal of potential danger

I had a friend that used to do it a few years back and hop on the train to London every now and again and stay over for a week/fortnight.

Nothing weird ever happened to him but tbf he was always a bit of a strange one.

It's pretty damn safe, drug trials are HEAVILY scrutinised before they even make it to the stage of being administered to humans.

I seem to remember about four people a few years back who did a drugs trial and it put them into a coma or something along those lines. It was all over the news for quite a while. Anyone remember the outcome?

There was a set of trials that caused people to swell up really badly, elephant man style.

Think a few died, was quiet horrendous thinking about voluntarily doing that to yourself

Ask what side effects there are likely to be. If it is something painful but not life threatening, then go for it. If it's something that might kill you, stay away. Just make sure tht any effects aren't long term/permanent

Just become a normal prostitute...

Unfortunately I am not attractive or young enough for this. I've heard of the stories above linked but bare in mind that was five years ago. These kind of trials must be done with any slight change to the ingredients of any medication and as mentioned there are plenty of previous testing processes. I dunno, it just seems like easy money which could ensure my account looks healthy until I begin my graduate job. In fact I really don't need it at all but its such easy money!

As mentioned already it is probably as safe as crossing the road, problem is you never know what pill is a placebo or what turns you into elephant man
