Ever been stung.....

Never in my 28 years. Well, unless you count the time I stood on a dead wasp by accident and effectively was stung by default. That hurt for a bit, but wasn't much more than a nasty nettle sting really.
 
I used to get stung a lot as a child. My parents told me that if I didn't make a fuss, they wouldn't sting me. So one day (I think I was 6), when a wasp settled on my arm, I summoned up all my courage and decided to test it by sitting as still as a statue.

It stung me anyway.

I hate wasps. I hate them with the burning fury of a thousand suns. Never been stung as an adult, but childhood was sufficient for the phobia to take root.
 
When I was in primary school I was stood with my hands behind my back (god knows why) and I felt something on my palm. I closed my hand over whatever it was and got stung, I don't know if it was a bee or wasp. It hurt a lot and it caused swelling which lasted a couple of hours.

I did this when i was younger but they were REVENGE killings :D . Its a bit silly now i look back at it but me and my brother must have killed a few hundred over 3 or 4 days. I think i've been stung by a bee once and a wasp twice but its been well over 10 years since i was last stung, i cant even remember how much it hurt at the time.

I dont start swatting them if they come close like i did when i was a kid but i do start walking swiftly in the opposite direction until they leave me alone.

Unlucky, I always assumed this would work but i never had the courage to do it when i was a kid. Im glad i didnt.

I've let wasps/bees crawl on me and they didn't bother me. Yes been stung... but that was when I've deserved it.

Wasp crawled down my face once, but I was like

Yes, working on a roof in Spain. Disturbed a wasp nest in some piles of brick (wearing shorts and boots only), backed off a fair bit towards the ladder thought it was ok then got stung right on the ankle! Promptly screamed some expletive and jumped off the roof onto a pile of mixing sand below and ran inside, shut the door.

That was the first I got stung and it was suprisingly bloody nippy at the time, went up a few hours later with petrol and blootered the wee ******s. Then had a beer with my foot up.

How would you know if you were allergic? You need to be stung once to develop the allergy do you not?

I can't see how you would know you were allergic without having a reaction. I am allergic to wasps (sometimes). I have been stung six times, four times prompted hospital treatment (the last one being last year). Wherever I get stung, my forearms swell to epic proportions, a bit like popeye lol.

I'd rather have that though than a bee sting which are much more painful imo.
 
Never by a wasp, but had a bee once. I was with some kids at my old 'den'. Swinging my arm immaturely like kids do. Middle finger swells up, followed by the rest of my hand. Caught a bee unawares, and took 2-3 days for the bloat to clear.
 
got stung today by a wasp, my own fault.
moving stuff out of a wooden shed thier was 2 nests in opposite corners
first thing i do is grab a big stick and smash em up lol,
2 others got stung, back of the head, i got stung just below the eye.
