**Official Duke Nukem Forever Thread**

First level or two I thought were good, I could even get in to the mindset of it just being Duke 3D updated which I liked. Then after the first few levels the interactivity goes right down and they just string levels and enemies together with some basic puzzles.

It's a shame because if they had continued the interactivity and humour at the same level as the first parts it would have been good game.

And if they did another one, with a new engine? Would you be interested in it?

I would judge it on a game by game basis. I think a lot of the hate stems from the fact this game has been so long in coming and the old game was hailed as such a classic.

Must be pretty hard to live up to that kind of hype.

Yep... But I suspect even with this tsunami of hate towards the game, I recon if they sat down, and did another one with a modern engine, there's hope for a good game, and that it would sell well too!

Over 1.5M copies sold so far...

Let's hope this merits a properly managed sequel!

I don't think I'll still be into gaming as much in another 14 years :p

I sometimes wonder if Half Life 2: Episode 3 has become to new Duke Nukem Forever. Maybe we can expect to see the game released in another decade? :(

Is odd isn't it! And imagine the amount of time/effort they plough into things like TF2 for example which make them no money...

You'd think a company the size of Valve....

would you know, like, have separate development teams? Maybe a HL team?

Or do they only let the HL dev team out of the basement every 8 years to release a new game?

lol DSP, this is the guy that hated on the witcher 2 for being too hard and suggested it could take lessons from assassins creed in the combat stakes. :o

The guy does make a lot of true and valid points though which the majority of the mainstream gaming press have not mentioned or thought about.
