After many false starts and various delays over the past few years, gScreen have finally launched their dual screen laptop;
At the moment they seem to be offering two specifications, both sporting dual 1920 x 1080 17" displays. The cheaper of the two comes with a Core i5 and 4GB RAM, and the other comes with quad core Core i7 and 8GB. For some reason they've gone with the previous generation of processors, which I think it's pretty daft considering how expensive these things are. I had personally hoped that they'd do a dual 15.6" or even 13.3" first, as those would still have some semblance of portability. I guess this first iteration is aimed at the sort of mobile worker who doesn't actually use their laptop on the move, and so it's in my mind it's more reminiscent of the old portable/luggable computers.
What does everybody else think of this? Absurd, brilliant, or somewhere in between? I am personally waiting to see some reviews of it before making up my mind completely, but I think I'd prefer a smaller version. A 15.6" with dual 1600 x 900 displays, perhaps.
Full specs and price are available on the gScreen site.
