The Big WWE Wrestling Thread

As I suspected the WWE didn't follow up the MITB ppv with an angle fitting with what happened there. Whilst it will be interesting to see Triple H week in week out in a managerial capacity (if that is indeed the road they're going down) I can almost guarantee that next weeks WWE Title match with end up having Cena added to it, him winning the belt, facing Del Rio at Summerslam yawn yawn boring yawn

Well Cena was never going to be fired but they could have done it a hell of a lot better than that. Although, surely they aren't going to actually give a new championship to whoever wins the tournament? This is RIDICULOUS. They made CM Punk the most talked about name in the business to just let him go?

I refuse to believe this until they actually do bring in a new belt and Punk hasn't returned after about a month. AURYGUTYFRYFIWUJGHFIWPVFPWF CAPSRAGE ARGHHHHHH!

What they should have done is fired Cena (legitimately)

Seriously though have Vince fire him, give him a month off and then have Trips come along and reinstate him, maybe if Summerslam wasn't the next ppv they may well of done that but they're not going to keep Cena out of the Summerslam main event when it's the company's second biggest event of the year :(

Last nights raw has opened a door to get CM punk back with the title.

I think HHH will rehire him at some point in the future (altho CM prob already signed a new contract).
Logically this was the best way to pull this off. Recently they have been lot talk of Vince retiring and WWE would have wanted the shock factor.

This plot could also lead into the secret gm being Steph. That plot needs binning as it is getting even more dull now.

lets wait to see what they do, esp with the title and punk etc before we right them off. They did the correct thing on MITB when no one belived they could, so I for now will hold up and wait. Oh and sean waltman (aka xpac) is saying its legit. HHH has taken over the day to day runnings over vince. I find it odd that they announced it over TV rather than in a shareholders meeting, which makes me think waltman is lying.

Well they probably discussed it before hand and Vince was just acting. Fairly sure that wouldn't be the first time he heard about it if that is what you are saying.

Could have had a better crowd for it though. There were still people booing him at the end when I think it really was a time to commend him on what he has done with the business. My favourite Mr Mcmahon moment has got to be when Kurt Angle was pretending to be injured and Mr Mcmahon comes down, with the walk and all and goes after him with his own crutch. Was so funny. Might be because that was one of the time where I was really into wrestling. There has probably been better confrontations with Stone Cold for example.

Found it:

WWE's Kayfabe look at a Big Show vs Andre match

Its amazing they still keep billing Andre as 7 foot 4\5 even though he was clearly nowhere near it. At the 2:09 mark you get a clip of the old Vince and Andre interview where they had Andre stand on a box, his heads actually taller than the top rope. Probably would have made him closer to the 8 feet mark.

without a doubt. But that doesnt mean its any less compelling.

the second he won the title, and left the building with it sealed the fact that he had signed a new contract.

It's all an act, he's probably signed a new contract already, signed it before he even went out and won at MiTB :p

I'm sure a deal of some sort has been agreed, like him not appearing in TNA otherwise no chance the WWE would let him leave with their title but like shaffaaf said doesn't stop it being compelling viewing

Hey, with the way wwe has been since the atitiude era, this is gold. Lets all hope wwe do more with Punk. I can't see Punk being a heel.. maybe an anti hero but his popularity right now is out standing. They can't let this die.

Mania Packages are sold out guys....sold out on the day

I was in Vegas so didn't get the chance to book one, looks like I'll be needing to book individual tickets now, oh well :)

Sucks.

WWE are running the CM Punk at comic con on their front page. Well, that pretty much confirms he is still under contract.

I am about to watch Smackdown for what feels like the first time in years. :)

If you want to actually see some wrestling then Smackdown! is the place to get it in WWE at least. Also Superstars actually has pretty damn lengthy matches on there as well.

Raw is just 3-5 minute matches inbetween a lot of talking these days :(

Just watching it shows that I really am not a wrestling fan any more. I can't let it go and still watch RAW for the storylines but I struggle to sit through matches unless I am doing something to distract me. That is, unless the matches are really good or I am made to care about them. This is why I mainly only watch PPVs now.

Kane vs Orton was good though now I have watched it. Was that an unusually good match for Smackdown or special? Might have to watch the main events every week. I don't like this Kane character though.

Its always been like that. Raw is used more to hype up PPV's and to be less of a wrestling show and more entertainment.

Watching matches now bores me to hell unless its something special like Punk/Cena. Once you know all the mechanics of a wrestling match, you can pretty much predict the whole thing.
