Although you may be able to launch the game via battlelog which is on your browser I can say with some certanty that it will not be the prefered method of launching the game. That would be dumb beyond EA's usual level of retardation.

Well looks like you missed out on some good BF games, 2142 has to be one of the best, titan mode for the win.

Yes. They have to ensure compatability with all browsers, provide servers for the website as EVERYBODY playing the game will be logged in at the same time.

No.

Are you saying this battlelog thing is only for the alpha and it won't make it into the full game?

No battlelog will be in the game but it sure as hell won't be how the game is launched. It may contain links to open the game but they will probably work the same way as receiving game invites via Steam chat (opens the game through Steam, or in BF3's case Origin)
 
Well I did some exploring in the internets and I have found out there is a warez forum which has already cracked the game so it can be distributed illegally, they wont release it yet because they want 500 members to register to their forum, maybe they are chatting BS? btw they got screenshots for proof.
 
Keep getting disconnected from every server I try to join now. I assume it has something to do with the update that scooby555t posted above.

EDIT: Balls to this, am going on BC2 :D

tbh not sure if it was an orign update insted of a client update was half asleep when it came up so i could be wrong lol
