I have no knowledge of accounting or business "stuff" but someone has asked me to look into this -- is it possible to buy a UK company's "full year accounts"? ie. from Companies House? Are they called something else like "year end accounts"? If this is possible, how do I go about it?

Thanks!

I've already gotten to the list of available documents but I can't find anything that sounds like a consolidated document which could be considered "full year" accounts. There is a document called "Full list" with 'type' code AR01, is there a type code I should be looking for? Or have I been set on a wild goose chase? -.-

The annual accounts code is AA I think

AR01 is the annual return which comprises of company details like registered address, secretary etc.

You're not looking for the Annual Return (AR). You're looking for the Annual Accounts (AA). Depending on the size of the company, you probably won't get much more than a very basic balance sheet from them either tbh. Small company exemptions remove a lot of reporting requirements.

Then they are not yet available. Probably because they either have not yet been filed, or because they just have not been put on.

Aah I can see the following for every year since 2005:

AA 20/04/2011 31/12/10 TOTAL EXEMPTION FULL

Btw this is an online retailer with multi-million pound revenue :) A competitor of the company I work for.

The "TOTAL EXEMPTION FULL" simply means that they qualify as a small company and therefore have not been audited (the "TOTAL EXEMPTION" bit), but the have still filed a full set of accounts (ie not abbreviated) (the "FULL" bit).

Plenty more referenceswhere that comes from. Are you sure that is the correct company name? For instance, Overclockers UK is the trading name of ESNET LTD.
