Banksy

Yes, only problem is where you would put. I know for a fact that many Swindonians think of themselves as west country boys.

I try as hard as possible not to think of myself as a Swindonian, but a lack of deep west country accent is about the only redeeming feature round here.

/Accent
"I can't read, and I can't write,
But that don't really matter,
Cause I got a sheep, and I got a cow,
And I can drive my tratter!"

Perhaps, after realising that I've only heard this here, I can see some truth in what you say :p

Neither do I, the taxi drivers seem to have it the most though. One of the taxi drivers said " Where do you want to go my love", that was a bit of a culture shock. It's a mixed bag, most Swindonians I know don't really have it but you can certainly still find it around.

I was born in London and lived in Ireland for about 15 years. For some reason my accent seems to have met in the west country.

I once had a receptionist ask me if I was from Taunton as that is where she was from and she recognised the accent.

I don't "dislike" Banksy. I do think a lot of his art is nothing more than graffiti when it's painted on other peoples property, but think it's largely harmless. However, somewhat confused by this statement within the article:

The agency's spokeswoman said she was "sure they didn't realise" the fake sign was a Banksy when it was taken down about three months ago.

She added the sign was torn as it was taken down because of the way it had been pasted to the signpost.

Sort of suggests to me that they're defending why they removed the sign, as if they don't want to upset Banksy fans........?! Does our society really hold Banksy in such regard that he's allowed to stick whatever he wants wherever he wants, or am I just reading too far in to that statement? :p

probably just means that they would have sold it instead of binning it!
