I noticed that you UK mainland people have to pay a car TAX each year...

You pay a lot of tax on each litre of fuel ...So why do they also charge you for car TAX each year ??

What is the OP expecting from this thread? A pat on the back for living in Guernsey?

Crap thread; needs locking tbh.

I like displaying a tax disc. I also like buying 12 month discs as it makes me look like I have plenty of money to the neighbours.

This has to be the future! No need for two taxes, that just a waste of money.
But they made sure they made about twice as much money out of us when they put the TAX on fuel...

Are car TAX use to be around £120 per year,But when they changed it to an icrease in fuel it worked out most people where then paying out well over £200 extra :(

There increase put fuel from something like 52p per ltr to about 80p

Just to give you an indication of how backwards Guernsey is, not so long ago you were not allowed to buy petrol on a Sunday.

I would not live there if fuel was free.
