India v England ODI Series (and token T20) **spoilers**

The problem for us in India has to be psychological.
The bowling's been nothing special really, just the same old Indian 75-80Mph with no real swing, no reverse swing, no bounce.. occasional ball keeping low but as said - its occasional.

EH?! What match are you watching mate?

Yadav's average ball today has been 142.2k (that's over 88mph). Vinay Kumar's early wickets were due to the ball swinging away from the batsman. Granted there's no reverse swing, because there's 2 balls in use. Swann's wicket (and someone else's that I can't remember) were due to a ball keeping low.

The bowling, and the fielding even more so, have been top notch today.

The fielding ill give you, but the bowling has been as expected I'm sorry to say. Good line (especially early on) but there's been not a single "oh wow!" moment to get someone out, its all been entirely predictable giving the wicket away from most the England batsmen.

As for speed and Average speed, how many 94+ did Finn bowl last game, and remind me how threatening he looked ? :p

If the batsmen have gifted their wickets, how do you explain the low economies of the Kumars and Kohli?

Hey, you're the one who brought the topic of pace up, not me :p

Go through each dismissal.
Cook was a terrible shot. Kieswetter played at the ball when he didn't have to, KP tries to drive a ball he had no chance of actually getting a proper hit on it was that wide.

Trott was a good ball ill give you.
Bopara kept low (Pitch was to blame there, not good bowling).
Same Patel.
Bairstow ill give you as well, because of the good field placement and all - they knew he would have to go for it.
Swann's never kept low, he tried to direct it down to third man and only got a feint edge onto the stump, played too far inside the line. Fair play for Mr Pedestrian medium pace for aiming at the stumps though.
Bresnan's was stupid, i can see why he tried it again but at this point you want to see your overs out, and we never managed it.
Then the run out at the end .. sigh

-edit-
Honestly, it looked like a 280-300 wicket. So i expect another massive spanking now.

Let me re-analyse for you :D

Cook - bad shot.
Kieswetter - needless shot, but a goot ball, shaping away from off stump on a good length.
Trott - similar to Kieswetter, but a fuller delivery.
Bopara - kept a little low, no one's fault, a good straightener though.
Pietersen - bad shot really.
Patel - got out at a time when they were looking to accelerate, good line of bowling.
Bairstow - pretty good bowling, amazing fielding.
Swann - good accurate bowling, it looked like it kept a little low to me.
Bresnan - bad batting, trying to hit the big runs.
Dernbach - well...

And what about in between the wickets? Lots of dot balls due to good bowling and fielding, which built up pressure, forcing the batsmen to play silly shots. Let's face it, a run rate which barely touches 5 simply isn't good enough on this track.

We can agree to disagree i suppose :)

My argument for the dot balls would be that we were forever rebuilding because we lost wickets in 2 all the time.

End result is the same, score is about 50-60- 70 too low for the pitch and England will be obliterated if India bat even as badly as they did in England.
