I don't consider it IT, but I'm in computing related industry I guess. Embedded Systems Engineer, C/C++/ASM VxWorks/Linux etc. etc. Not IT, IT is IMO support/infrastructure stuff, not engineering. We have an IT department supporting us, we are not IT.
