That's exactly the same problem I was having, sudden drastic drops of FPS to 1 every 10 seconds or so. As mentioned previously upping to 8GB of system RAM has completely eradicated it.

Played for around 2 hours last night, not a single instance of it.

I realise that it doesn't really make sense, what with there being plenty of people using 4GB ram with no problems, perhaps there's some sort of memory leak somewhere that affects certain systems?

I'd try that before changing to different GPUs, memory is dirt cheap at the moment anyway and could well sort it out. It did for me!

It is strange how upping to 8GB fixed it for you, are you running at Ultra settings? I would get more RAM but in order to fit another g.Skill 2GB dimm I have to take my Artic Cooling Pro 7 CPU cooler off, and that is a massive ball ache!

Why has the game unlocked a day early? Logged in first thing this morning and it had unlocked.

I'm running at Ultra everything apart from shadows at medium, 1080P res. Mixture of the AA settings, not sure exactly what without being in front of my PC.

Also have the Ambient Occlusion down to SSAO because HBAO seems to end it for my system pretty badly.

I'm using the exact same Video settings that I had during the stuttering, that i'm now using without the stuttering however.

Its completely ruined for me this morning, cant get into any games, black screen or get kicked straight away!!!

It's so much fun flying jets with my logitech pad

However my fancy maneuvers get pawned by enemy jet heatseeker missiles as I don't have any jet unlocks atm

What would you advise me to do if I want to unlock jet flares knowing that enemy jets have missiles and other unlocks?

Without any form of protection I have no chance in air for long

MPUK doing a interesting deal on 12 month servers....works out at £45.00 a month for 64 player....now that's, pretty good!

Who is the TFU server hosted by? I was playing last night on a MPUK OCUK server, seemed to be running nicely and good gameplay.

I have done that, but it doesnt seem to remember i have updated it. And i have no sound in game, works fine when at desktop.

To add to this, download pbsetup and then add Battlefield 3. Make sure to put it in the pb folder as it downloads all the files to it's current directory.

Unfortunately without playing the jets some more you aren't going to get the unlocks!

To be perfectly honest with you, 9 times out of 10 I die in the jet because I've timed something wrong. If you can get up into the air when they're flying pass you, or at the other end of the map and you can get to them easily, then you're on to a winner. If you can get behind them, it should be game over for them.

It also helps to have someone to use the mobile AA that actually has a clue how to use the damn thing! If someone's on your six, just do a couple of passes by your AA on the ground and he should rip that jet to shreds
