L.A. Noire Complete Edition Announced For PC

Why all the hate for the game? I am assuming it is a non action game where i talk most of the time to ppl to find out clues to solve murders and such a bit like a point and click adventure game or like tex murphy games in a way.

I really enjoyed La Noire, so much so that im now buying it for the pc as well.

I've just bought it off steam, but no preload for the uk? Its already been released in the states. Anyway i wanted to use a us vpn or something so i can download it and play it.

I normally use openvpn but ive used up the trail period and need suggestions for others i could use please. ;)

L.A Noire was a nice idea in principle and it still seemed a good idea whilst I was playing the PS3 version, until you realise just how shallow the game actually was.

It had a decent build up, the suspense of solving cases and progressing seemed great but it soon got stale as you realised the city was baron of anything worthwhile and it all got a bit repetitive. Which was a shame, as some of the time you got to attend some decent police gun fights, but then they all got the same, and eventually I got bored.

I also realised just before I got bored the game suffered from serious case of self induced emotion failure for the player, as most of the time the facial expressions where you was meant to tell if the person was telling the truth or not ended up being take a stab in the dark and hope you’re right. It didn’t work, felt like I was autistic towards the end of some cases, honestly even my gf had troubles, and she’s excellent at telling what peoples faces are telling you..

Graphically it was very good, it doesn’t really need anything past 30fps anyhow, as mostly it was a slow moving game, ultimately this game failed for reasons of being hard to work out the facial expressions (major point of the game) becoming stale and boring and eventually you stop playing due to this.

Shame, great concept that just didn’t work in practice I felt.

As others have said, its interesting, to start with, but the game is pretty dull and worst of all, there is quite a lot of action in it but ALL the shooting/action bits are so painfully easy its laughable.

The game has zero difficulty, as with so many games that try to be like this, with no challenge the game feels, not right at all. You can shoot pretty much everyone around, in seconds, with no real danger and I barely play consoles just the odd title.

The story, has good parts but so repetitive, the checking evidence stuff all takes stupidly long and is too easy to find stuff. The twists are obvious, the stories are obvious, everything is obvious.

Its like a cheesy film that 20 years ago might have seemed original....... except its stretched by 20 hours and fairly dull for the majority. Oh well. Frankly I thought even for a console it looked like complete crap, I can't imagine how bad that might look on the PC compared to the current top end games. I can't see them increasing the graphical quality beyond better draw distance and higher resolution.

Just finished downloading the game, using a vpn to play it early unlocks tonight. Just did the first part, game runs smoothly at highest settings. Really wish you could increase the draw distance though. No option to disable vsync, and it caps the game at 30fps.

I bought the game on steam...doesn't even have an install "button" on it's page? any ideas?:p have restarted too and says it's released on main page....guess it's just taking a bit longer.

Same issue - might just be a US midnight release or something.

I very much enjoyed this on ps3, thought it was fantasitc.

How big's the download? must be pretty big with the facial animaion?

Something I'd like to get round to playing at some point, the technology looks great, and with a decent story line it could be very good.

GTA IV on PC was "okay" running for me, it looked better then it did on console and ran smoother, and I thought the console games were brilliant. It's the best GTA stand alone game imho (but that's another debate)

L.A. Noire, was fantastic, it's not like a GTA game per say, it's a big open beautiful city, but this is a game about a detective and a story, the City is there in a very different capacity then it is in GTA games, the games were compared because they were publish by Rockstar.

L.A. Noire is a really good game :)
