I've had it up to here with AMD's terrible drivers and support, and im considering going from a 6870 to 2x560ti 1gb, What do you guys think?

I get nothing but complaints from everyone i know using AMD and absoloutely not one complaint from my Nvidia partners.

I run games fine, but its driver support, other things that lack.

I'm not being a dumbass kinda person saying "NVIDIAS BETTER AMD CRAP"

AMD just have godawful drivers, dont update them soon enoug when they do come out and have awful performance rates comared to most nvidia cards of the same price.

That and theres always other external problems due to it.

Dont come in here and start a AMD vs nvidia war, i just want to hear of peoples advice.

The biggest thing I hate about my ATI card is it's ability to use eyefinity profiles. They work one day and not the next. Are a nightmare to configure in CCC (which is garbage compared to Nvidias control pane)

Apart from that. The performance from my 6970 is excellent. Games play fine. I've never noticed a difference in performance when updating drivers. I believe it's just to fix bugs etc with some games. I don't play those games, so doesn't apply to me. I update anyway incase it solves something not mentioned.

My next card will be an Nvidia. My last three £100+ cards have all been ATI/AMD

had both recently. An NVidia with an AMD CPU, and two AMDs with an intel CPU. Didn't noticed any difference in terms of performance not meeting expectations, or instability.

You wanna swap, then fine, no point venting.

I've never had any issues, and I've been on ATI/AMD for the better part of a decade. My only point of discontent is the CAP system for Crossfire - it really isn't very user-friendly.

running 11.10 on my 6870, no issues not even in BF3 !!

running a 2500K @ 4.6 on a GD65 with 8mb RAM and a 6870, system is rock solid and never had any real problems with the gfx drivers, only issue I had was on initial build when I idiotically used the drivers on the CD that came with the 6870 and they were severely out of date and gave me compatibility issues. So I just uninstalled them went to the ATi website downlaoded the latest ones and the issue was sorted. Recently updated to 11.10 as it gave me better performance in BF3.

Maybe you are just unlucky ?

One problem I've found though, is when swapping from ATI to NVidia and vice versa. It's best to uninstall all the drivers in safe mode, turn it all off, swap the cards, boot it up, and then install the new drivers.

You don't like driver issues yet you suggest going from 1 card to 2 cards....?

Interesting.

Old wives tale...... There's plenty of people running Nvidia, AMD, and Intel gpus and drivers in their pcs all at the same time.

What specific problems have you had/are you having? If you think going from a single card to SLI is going to be plain sailing, with reguards to driver updates and support, I've got news for you!

I've had ATi cards for the last 4-5 years, and I've built 10's of machine for other people in that time also with ATi cards, and can honestly say I've not had one problem or complaint with the drivers. I've not used Crossfire so have no experience with that but everything I run on my machine runs 100%.

I feel really left out :( having used ATi since 2004 and not having had any these issues with drivers, or anyone I know complaining about AMD, maybe I have bad juju or something. I will go and order 2x gtx590s and make everything better.
