Drivers and their music

I tend not to have the windows down as it makes the door speakers sound not so good, but I've been told the sub thuds quite loudly when I turn up the missus house :p

I have a decent (read, ~1k worth) sound system in my car, and I will turn it up as loud as I feel when driving out of town, windows up or down.

I tend to turn it down when sitting in traffic or driving through town, purely for the embarrassment factor, not because I care if it cheeses people off. Really - if you get worked up about a car driving past for 10 secs playing music you don't have enough to worry about :p. Even sitting next to a car in a queue playing music doesn't worry me, just have a little car dance and lighten up!

I don't think it gets the majority of folk worked up. It doesn't even annoy me. I think most folk will just look with pity at the driver of the mobile disco and think "You do realise you look like a complete twonk?". :p

I once got in a taxi in North Carolina.
The driver was a black guy. Looked to be about mid 60's.
I think he had a pair of huge speakers pointing directly into the back seats of the cab. My head was wobbling the whole length of the journey.

Country and Western to boot!!

Well in that case fair enough, and is exactly the reason I don't do it in towns.

Quite a few people in this thread seem to actually be annoyed about it though, which really is quite sad :p.

So what?

What's wrong with liking loud music and fresh air?

Mind your own business, unless they're parked in your face all day just ignore it for the 3 whole seconds you'll have to hear it.

Who moaned about fresh air?

When I start to feel tremors, I have every right to make it my business god dammit

Another thought: How is it any different to people who deliberately rev their engine around town or deliberately dip the clutch so the exhaust booms when taking off. It's all attention seeking behaviour.

I rev when taking off, even if I'm only moving a few feet. With the light flywheel and sticky clutch I would probably stall otherwise. Got a beancan exhaust too :p.

What with that and my music people must think I'm a right *** :D.

Put up with it for the few seconds or turn yours up.

It's the same with loud cars but I bet a few have them on here.

I like my music loud. I keep it low if I'm around residential though. I dont have thump thump bass music or wind all my windows down but I do turn it up because I have a decent system and want to use it.

I agree with you totally but what also bugs the hell out of me is the kind of person that listens to the radio (news, sport, whatever) inside their car, with the windows up, at like 120db and the bass cranked to max, so what I hear outside their car, or sitting in traffic beside them, is solely the bass parts, like "vvvv, bbb vvv www".

It's just as inconsiderate and also even more irritating than music because of the irregular rhythm.

I have to say though, you get the feeling a lot of people in this thread would moan about a bike with an aftermarket can going past their house...and then spend an hour or two pootling around their garden with a petrol lawnmower annoying the hell out of their neighbours!!!
:D
