dodgy neighbours preparing for crime..

Oh not this type of "logic" again.

While I acknowledge that it is a possibility, just because some one has stolen something doesn't mean they go on to do worse and worse things.

True, but there is a strong correlation between people who have convictions for theft also having convictions for burglary.

It is a Polish neighbour mind, and in my experience of policing in Southampton, if you're Polish then the law doesn't apply to you anyway and the police can't be bothered.

Well I suppose we're lucky your experience isn't representative then.

Can't we get OcUK detectives on the case here? Surely we must be abole to get OP's address.

yes please, living in southampton id like to know where to come looking if i get driven in to or mugged or burgled into by someone with false plates..

OP is being really shortsighted assuming its fuel theft (not thats acceptable), could be anything.

and as someone else said, the legit owner of those plates will be getting grief over the crimes. theres a guy over on TP who very nearly got charged with petrol theft because the CCTV was "similar" to his car.

Wait what hes a dodgy neighbour who could be stealing something to which everyone says report him and then you say you know him and have been trying to help him. Doesnt compute to me but oh well I just dont know why you wouldn't have said that to start with. Personally I would reported what you have seen who knows what reason he did what he did as none of us know for sure to be honest only guess work.

At least that way if something went down the part you saw was reported.

If they're bringing up a child around a life of crime then the child could grow up to think crime is "OK".

If they have committed crimes and it gets reported the child will be taken into care and would get better care away from crime.

If all you were thinking of was the child....then you must not think very hard!

So the OP posts a few weeks back asking 'can we sue a club coz my mate slipped on the wet floor' ... and now he is wanting to 'let off' a guy who is involved in some shady dealings.

OP sounds like idiot.

im thinking of the new born not the crime.

Irrelevant. The child will be looked after - do you really want the child to be brought up by criminal parents? Surely your moral responsibility should be to ensure that the child gets a decent stab at life, and not brought up in a criminal environment? What if the child starts to behave like their parents years down the line? Don't feel sympathy because of that, it's no excuse.

You should listen to his argument for downloading tv shows via his 'legitimate' torrent site. That's a real gem lol.

If they have just filled up and drove away, what do you think the petrol is for? Driving to job interviews? Or driving around to see what else they can steal.

I'm no saint but I would still report it

Ok i will pop around on sunday and have a word. I will spell it out if he wants my wife and my supports he needs to cut it out. Hes a mixed bag one min taking on a homeless kid when he can't feed his own family and the next gearing up for crime

Oh sure because comfronting a criminal in his own home is one of your best ideas yet.

What if he is mentally unstable? What if he attacks you or pulls a weapon?

Phone the damn police and stop being an idiot.

what if he took the homeless kid in because he uses him for crime?

i.e running guns or drugs as he can't be charged as he's under age?
