asus royal knight cooler 1155 :S

i recieved my new i5 2500k, 1155 socket mobo Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Intel Z68 and an asus royal knight cpu cooler this morning but i cannot get the cooler to fit whats so ever i do not think it is compatible with 1155 socket boards even though on the product description it states it is compatible am i doing something wrong ir should i get my money back for false advertising from overclockers ?

You need to contact OCUK. Theres another thread around here somewhere (cant find it) about the Axe Square.

Basically OCUK had a small shipment with the 1155 bracket, then the rest didnt come with it. OCUK will ship out a bracket immediately though.

There is a solution at the bottom, but I wouldnt recommend loosening the retaining screws considering this is keeping the CPU cool.

Ive sent a message to overclockers on friday just waiting on a reply i did recieve a 1156 socket adaptor with the cooler is this the bracket you meant or should they have sent a 1155 bracket instead ?

The 1156 socket adaptor should work if you have that.

S1155 and S1156 use the same mounting holes in the motherboard so you'll be fine with what you have.

The problem is that the holes on the actual heatsink dnt line up with the holes on the bracket so i cant attatch them together

If the heatsink and bracket don't fit together then you'll have to get in touch with OcUK.

Post some pictures if you like and well have a look if you're missing something.

Ok ive got in contact with them by email waiting on reply cant phone as i work when they are open lol ill post some pics when i get home thanks for the help

Had exactly the same issue dude.
I phoned ocuk explaining that the 1155 bracket they supply does not fit the royal knight. The gent the other end of the phone physically tried, and issued an rma, couldn't believe it

God only knows why ocuk are still sending them out!
