Hi Guys,

Ordered a set of powerline network adapters late on the 28th of February on free next day delivery via Royal Mail, the order confirmation stated they would be delivered today however nothing has arrived and I have had no failed to deliver note through my door; this concerns me!

What else concerns me is that the order status on the overclockers website is marked as complete, I'm worried that my package may have gone walkies and with there being no tracking number etc do I have any cover for this potential occurence? What I mean is does it come down to my word against royal mails?

You think that's bad?!

I received this yesterday:

That's a letter from my bank!

Even though it was open fully at one end (it looks like the glue was either weak or somebody has cleverly unsealed it), thankfully the letter contained nothing but my address and information telling me my student overdraft facilities are changing this year as I'm no longer a student.

First class mail is not a guaranteed next day service. There can be any number of problems along the way that cause mail to be delayed. Wait a few more days and if nothing turns up contact OcUK and I'm sure they will sort things out for you :)

Damn right. Two particlar items were sent to me via 1st class post recently. One took 11 days to arrive and the other 13. Both from different senders and I can confirm the date and class of postage from the packaging. I very rarely get items sent 1st class the next day; usually it's 2-4 working days.

You bank with HSBC. :D

my Canon 40D was delivered to my recycle bin outside my house :/ found it 2 days later. postyman signed for it himself and dropped it in the bin.

YES i recently bought a tablet and the postman rang the door bell, took me 20 seconds to get there and she was putting it inside my garden rubbish wheely bin when i opened it.
Ive also had stuff left in the drain, if it had rained then... :(

Its an imperfect world so an extra day here or there i can live with, even if its annoying.

Got a parcel sitting at Coventry parcel force doing **** all for a week now, with this helpful message on the site:

Global Priority service to Russia
Extraordinary demand for all distribution services to Russia has caused considerable pressure on air services and customs clearance. Unfortunately this has resulted in delays to our normal service to the entire country and it is with regret that we have had to suspend our delivery guarantees for Global Priority until further notice. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but we are endeavouring to provide as near normal a service as possible.

How on earth does that delay incoming stuff? And it's just so random in the first place.

Just as bad, I've had a temporary postman post my ink cartridges through a small downstairs window. It happened to be the toilet window. Package ended up in the toilet bowl but it was wedged such that it just missed getting drenched the water. I was not a happy bunny!

Goodness me.

Our postman is very friendly and uses common sense when we're not in. Who on earth would put your post in a bin?! Seriously. Get their name and complain.

OP: If you don't have tracking, and it's first class you'll have to wait a few days. If it's RMSD, you should have tracking details.

I am not a dishonest person but on either of these occasions I would be very tempted to claim that the item had not been delivered. If it gets the postie in trouble and looks like he has stolen it then so be it. Delivery drivers that do that sort of thing only do it for 1 reason... Laziness! Putting items in bins, posting through windows and chucking items over gates and worst of all signing themselves that they have delivered an item is not doing their job properly.

Agreed. The posty who does the runs around my area uses commmon sense and either posts a missed delivery note (such as today when no one was available to collect some cat5 cables), or delivers them to a neighbour who will then pass said parcels onto me when someone is in the house.

I have a package with $200 worth of photo's of my daughter from the states that has gone AWOL (Several weeks overdue, and a later package arrived sooner).
