They fix Skyrim for me.

One thing I don't understand, the drivers are newer than the caps.

Does that mean that not applying the caps would actually mean the drivers would be using profiles which are more up to date?

Surely the drivers contain all the cap until the date they where released, applying old caps would role back the profiles even further....

This is why I hate this idea of caps...

So for pure performance which are better, 12.3 WHQL or 12.4 Beta ?

Amd should put this info on their download page instead of leaving it for a dev to post on twitter:

These drivers seem good.

BF3, Skyrim and Batman AC are running flawlessly.

Those will be betas.

Have sworn off using betas any more. Just have a more pleasant experience sticking to officials.

Can be patient to wait a month of so for any updates/fixes in betas.

Though I would like to get the MLAA improvements. Thought it looked and ran quite well.

Always used to look like someone smeared screen with vaseline, but when I tried it when had the 12.4's on, looked pretty good.

Am I right in saying it feels like AMD can't get anything right?

Like what is this going on with my idle clocks on the second card... first card on GPU-z.

And when I try to change the values of the idle clocks, it doesn't take effect. Like it's ignoring them completely. As I'm only running one screen.

It's causing heat for no reason. The card normally idles 27 - 29c.

What drivers were you using before? Were there any problems? Just wondering why you bothered updating drivers as ur using 5800 series. If it ain't broke, don't fix it kinda came to mind.

If its the C:\AppData\Local\ATI\ACE\Profiles then it will not work.
You have to make a custom fan profile and edit the values in that one.

My card idles at 50C :O other than that it's quite a cool system... time to invest in an aftermarket cooler I think.
