Funny email to police (LOL)

Either way its a classic!

EDIT: MrElve, KD wasn't inciting you be banned for the thread, he was merely joking that you should be banned for putting a "lol" in the title.

I can't remember how many years ago I first read this letter. It's amusing, but old and was debunked at the time.
 
I had a letter arrive on my desk yesterday which had been to 4 other areas of our Trust.
The different departments had read it, stamped it, passed it on and it came to me via HR.
It was addressed to Dr G Hopewell, University Hospital of North Staffordshire etc.
The content of the 'official' looking letter said there was 17.5 million dollars that belonged to him and he could only make contact through email.
I can't believe 4 other people (and probably way more) read this before me and decided it was a legal issue :D
 
I don't think sending the police an email threatening to murder people with a claw hammer would go down too well. I know it's fake but the writer still sounds like a giant tool.
 
I just wish that everybody would just stop saying that I should be banned. I only intended to share for the humor, and all I'm getting is all this, what I see as insult, that I should be banned for trying to have some fun.

EDIT: I won't be posting in this thread any more because even if this is a joke or not, I feel it's now getting out of hand. Plus, I don't like being accused that I should be banned when I only wanted to share something for humor. If an admin / Don is reading this, please can you delete this thread. Thanks.

I failed to see the funny the first time I read it. Having since read it several times I stand by my original analysis that there is indeed no funny to be found.
