can you patience a app

Hi

I've got a good idea for app.

Thing is i don't have the slightest clue how to make it or even start.

So i would need someone to make it but don't want them to steel it.

Can anyone give me some pointers please.

Its not a game if that help in pointing in the right direction in making one or gettin made

Yup, you can speak to app making companies without them stealing your idea by getting them to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
Don't know anything else apart from that though.

Patents would cost to much, unless of course its amazing and is totally beneficial. Hope you have about £5,000.00 before you even decide to pay someone to create it for you.

I went to a patent company and they wanted £7,500.00 just to start looking at existing patents etc.

Id go for the non-disclosure.

Ha ha ye that's the one. Im dyslexic so i got my cousin to spell it... Turns out she is or just drunk.

Its not i life changing app but i think its a seller. There is no way i would spend money on it.

Your unlikely to get someone who'll do it for free and sign a NDA (and whatever other legal acronyms you'll need to stop them running off with it). If you want to keep the rights you only really have two options: pay someone, or get on develop.android.com and learn how to make it yourself.

As said, if you're not willing to pay, how are you hoping to get people to make it for you? :confused:

Patents do not necessary cover what the app does, but how the app does it. I don't think it's possible to stop people making the same app as you - you just gotta have the capacity and flexibility to make it better than anyone out there.

So, as mentioned earlier, I reckon the "non-disclosure agreement" is what you'd be looking for.

Seeing as you don't want to pay for it, I imagine you aren't looking for a big developer brand to make it for you. Maybe you can throw basic info (how long you think it'll take to make, what kind of developer will be required, etc) on developer forums and see if an individual responds, willing to do it for free (or some sort of credit).

There is no guarantee it will make money just because i think it will.

I own my own small business and i like to earn not spend (unless its on my family and computer parts ha ha) on something that's not a dead sert.

If i knew more about how to make them then i would think about spending

There obviously going to take a cut of potential profit.

Its not like im going to ask the likes of EA to make it. Its not a world dominating app.

But its something that will be used daily by kids (or ones with phones which most have)

It's VERY unlikely that a company will take the time to sort out an NDA with you before you even tell them what the idea you have is, it's just too much of a risk for them. Chances are they'll just laugh you off sorry.

If you're not willing to pay, do it yourself.

It's not even free if you want to register for access to the Google Play Store btw.

You can get anyone to do anything for you for free, you just need to present an idea/business plan which interests them, (and a load of shares in your future company too)

Why don't you use your small business to fund it? The development costs can be offset against tax (not sure if 100% but an accountant can advise).
