As above, are there any Debit card thats dont charge a fee for international purchases or what else would be the best way?

Buying from Amazon.com and getting charged £1.50 a pop, this is for game downloads so cant even add them to the cart so have to buy indvidually so getting this charge over and over again

There's credit cards available to do this, I believe Halifax and Santander offer them. As long as you clear the balance of every month thus treating it like a debit card then it would be a good option

Im with halifax, but my cards a visa/electron :o

Dont want a credit card, not my cup of tea.

Switch bank accounts then. First Direct give you £100 for switching I think. You could switch to HSBC or Barclays if you prefer a high street bank.

Like I said if you're well disciplined and use it like a debit card then it is only a credit card in name really :p. Stick to a low credit limit and and don't get crazy and you'll be fine. Plus credit cards are handy for big purchases due to the extra protection they offer because of Section 75.

I know what your saying but its been ingrained in to me not to spend what you dont have. No overdrafts, credit, finance and even mortgage!

Hopefully as Halk suggested the Barclays card will suffice!

That's fair enough :) at least it prevents you from getting into issues with debt :p.

Are you sure?

Im paying that few % plus £1.50 on Halifax? i assume

Yes. I'm sure. If you're paying in a foreign currency then banks load it by around 3%.

Halifax 2.75% + £1.50 per purchase

Barclays 2.99%

So for a £5 transaction (in dollars) with Barclays you'd pay £5.15
With Halifax you'd pay £6.64
If you used the right credit card you'd pay £5.
