£700 phone bill in 2 weeks?

Surely those charges are going to be brought down no way on earth did it cost them that much to supply the data even with making a profit. Hopefully the IT guy can badger them down and get all contracts up to date. And some of the comments are just ridiculous place has gone down hill.

why is the failure to use common sense the fault of the mobile network or the employer?

This.

My billing date is the 19th of the month, so I'm two thirds of the way through this month. I have unlimited data on my contact. So far this month I have used 103MB.

How and why do you use 700MB in one day on a contract that doesn't have data!?

My home broadband connection was down for a week once - I asked Orange to put a data addon to my package to give me about 5GB of data allowance.

The messed up the start date of the package and sent me a bill for about £4500 for a weeks data usage... Even though everyone at orange saw it was a mistake on their side, it still too 3 months to sort out...

I would assume, perhaps wrongly, that everybody knows you don't use data on a SIM Card that hasn't got a data plan. It's financial suicide.

I feel the pain here but it's not the fault of the carrier. Expect to pay up (maybe a negotiated amount?)

1. They're all robbing ********
2. They're all robbing ********
3. No way a phone firmware and software download should be anywhere near 700MB more like 700kB - 7MB.
4. They're all robbing ********

Put a payg sim into the new phone.

Just before I went on holiday to Italy I rang Orange about data and they advised me to turn data roaming off and only use WiFi because it would cost £3/meg.
Glad I did because I downloaded a 200 meg file.

OP

Stop throwing your toys out the pram, it's her and the schools fault.

The school overlooked what plans they are on (likely it's run by old people that don't 'get it')

And her fault for not checking, it pretty obvious these days.

It's expensive sure but looking at the amount of data, a little less than £1 a MB, which is the going rate on non data plans....

but it cost more than data roaming!!! very unfair me think lol

there was no way of access to internet when i was in ibiza. only way was purchase one of t mobile data roaming booster. £10 for 50mb which i purchased 4 times so £40 for 200mb

edit2: ahh didnt see the business plan bit. oh well lol

Speak to the service provider, I'm sure they will sort something out for a first occurrence but I would buy here a copy of Wide Range Readers Green Book 5 - Teacher is owned by O2, she might learn from it.

700k lol - you'd use that just browsing a website looking for firmware.

Try to negotiate with them, if they refuse to be reasonable just ditch the contract and grab giffgaff sim, in the same shoes I honestly wouldn't pay them, it's not like it cost them £700 to supply the data, other people using the same amount on a better contract would be paying nowhere near that amount.
