Hi guys,

I'm after some lighting for my system (650D). So was thinking of a LED strip along the bottom and rear of the case.

What are the best lights to go for? The Bitfenix seem crazy expensive for something so small :o

Also, anything to look out for when planning lighting?

The 20cm Bitfenix Alchemy strips are excellent. I bought one for my Phantom 410 and it lights up the inside nicely - they really are very bright.

Check out this video:

It shows their brightness very well. I'd highly reccomend them.

Have you considered making your own? Getting a load of superbright LEDs from say, eBay and making a circuit? It should be pretty easy and really cheap.

+1.

Just get a connector and wire your own in. 12v Electronics is very easy to play around with due to voltage compatibility.

I love BitFenix stuff, have loads of it. Those LED's however are massively over-priced.

They use a lot of marketing blurb to justify the cost but eBay have some good prices for 12v LED kits with molex plugs attached. Aslong as you get the SMD versions they last forever.

I currently have 2, 13CM strips connected to one molex plug in the roof of my BirFenix Prodigy, perfectly bright enough. Cost me about £8 if i remember.

Ended up going for the 1m white NZXT.

Love the look and I've managed to hide the PCI controller at the front (under the phobya 200 rad) :)

Ive just ordered one too. QQ do you have to use the controller card or can it be plugged into a fan header directly? I dont need to worry about switching them off or adjusting the brightness

I took the controller card off the bracket (it's so small) and hid it, in the case.

I had a quick look to see if I could run it off the motherboard, but the connector for the LED strip itself looked different to a standard fan header, so I gave up :o:p
