They not out of business yet? =/

Friend has had to have his bold repaired/replaced 4 times, scroller breaking and charge port etc.

People don't need blackberry now with other smartphone options

Nobody else has done keyboards as well as them yet. Sure you can get swype and other very good keyboards on touchscreen phones, but blackberrys are very much more reliable in terms of typos, touchtyping etc. Nobody on Android appears to be making a serious attempt to rival them, nor on WP8 or iOS.

If they trim the fat off of their operations, they'll be very competitive as teenagers still love them, and they sell in spades - it's just that at the moment they're running very inefficiently.

Teenagers love them for BBM though, with things like whatsapp, on top of the fact that so many plans/payg offer unlimited texts these days i just dont see how they can really last :/

God damn but they have taken their time over this, far far far far far far to slow at getting this out.

Like I said, nobody other than RIM gives Qwerty phones any decent run. Android doesn't really work with it, none of the other OSs other try. Slide out qwertys are reasonably popular in the US but in the UK there's really nothing that can rival BlackBerry - the HTC Chacha is a year old, decidedly low-end qwerty phone and it's still the highest spec candybar qwerty android phone.

As a huge BB fan, all i can say after watching the crackberry vids on the BB10...DO WANT plz:D:D...soon as they are up for order, ill be placing mine and from what im seeing so far...bye bye Galaxy S3;).

Just watched the 13min demo video on engadget - oh boy did that OS look sucky - both visually and to use. Not interested at all.

The Windows 8 interface doesn't even begin to match up with a qwerty design and the Nokia design language doesn't even come close to the Blackberry one...

We may see the qwerty phone die if RIM go, so I really hope they stick around. Don't want to have to import a Droid from America if I want a proper keyboard!

Because the trade off is the space you've put the keyboard could be used for a bigger screen, and considering how much people use the screen when it comes to buying phones most people just don't buy the keyboard phones. The alternative is slide out keyboards, but they make the phone thicker and introduce weak points, and again not enough people want to buy them.

Some vids of the new BB10 device and software being shown off.

It looks like a cross between Android, IOS and Windows phone.

Dont like it personally.

Blackberry are going to lose the thing that people liked about them, being the keyboard. With this O.S they put them selves in competition with Apple, Microsoft and Google.

They not gona get very far!

Hmm spoke abit too soon, some neat stuff there, but is it too little too late?

Still think, they are losing they keyboard and trying to enter a market already saturated, giants and all these too late.
