People are missing the point. We set off fireworks to celebrate foiling an assassination plot on our country's king. It's a patriotic event that ought to be celebrated. You can't start putting a price on it and saying ' I don't understand why folk do it, it's burning money'
If you break down anything in to the component of its parts it becomes illogical. Going on a forum to discuss is just pressing buttons on a keyboard and waiting.....see!
Get yourself to a bonfire or set some off yourself and celebrate Great Britain!
king? you mean parliment -_-

I've gone for 54 years hating the things so I don't think I'm ever going to change![]()

Bonfire night != fireworks night.
Guy Fawkes Night, also known as Guy Fawkes Day, Bonfire Night and Firework Night
Canterbury celebrated 5 November 1607 with 106 pounds of gunpowder and 14 pounds of match, ............. the church bells rung, and bonfires and fireworks lit.
