Apple have modified their site so that you now need to scroll down to see the apology

Pretty sneaky. I don't think they are doing themselves any good with this type or behaviour. Post it and get on with it. That way people will hardly notice it.

Trying these type of tactics exposes them as underhand to the public which will affect their image more.

I don't see the problem with what they did last time. Some courts have ruled in favour of Apple, so clearly the matter isn't as clear cut as the UK court would have us believe.

The problem was they were ordered to apologise, and in the first statement, they didn't.

The cases Apple have won were for different patents/issues. They are not relevant to specific court case they lost.

According to the Slashdot commentary they have also disabled forwarding UK visitors from the US site (apple.com) to the UK site.

So on top of obfuscating the original message and this latest javascript trick, they're also making sure as few people as possible are reaching the UK site at all.

Whilst this may be true, I think part of Apple's success is down to their image of being a professional company who make products to enhance the user experience. This makes people willing to part with their money as they believe they are getting a well made product from a company who "cares".

The actions regarding this legal case go against that image.

There making way more news out of this than their originally would have been. Its like their retarded or so arrogant as to be stupid.

If they'd have just have put up the notice the way it was there would have hardly been any fuss, people would have went back to playing on their IPADS.

There gifting ammunition to their detractors. Its almost like they do think they are above the law.
