Worth changing sata2 hd for a sata3 when changing mobo?

I know the quicker SSD drives benefit from sata 6gbps but i have never owned normal hard drive thats been fast enough to notice a difference.

Sure someone more knowledgeable will pop along and fill in the blanks.

It wouldn't be worth changing just for the faster interface.

Depending on the drive's age there could be some benefit in upgrading just because each generation of drive tends to get faster.

if its a mechanical hdd then theres 0 difference,its just the drives themselves that are marginally faster nothing to do with the ports,ssd's are a different story

Exactly. SATA 3.0 seems utterly pointless on mechanical drives seeing as they don't even saturate SATA 2.0, in fact most wouldn't even saturate the very first revision of SATA!
