So went and bought a N66u last night

set it up with virgin superhub in modem mode

all seems ok

but my nzbs are downloading at 2.5Mb/s instead of full; 100MB/s

thought it was faulty so switched back to suberhub in router mode and NZB is full speed

so now back to Asus n66u and superhub modem

tried a http download from: http://gamefiles.virginmedia.com/blueyondergames/demos/ and get full speed!

its only my nzbs are now throttled to about 2.5MB/s

any ideas?

QOS is off, firewall on

hi mate

one port forwarded to my NAS box so i can see whats happening from work

not gone over download limit, as i said above, when i switched to the superhub (like 2mins apart) superhub gave me full speed

also with superhub on wired connection to my laptop speedtest = 80Mb+, on the N66U, 30MB speeds

but http download on Asus gives full speed

using latest Merlin firmware, may try go back to official and retest

I noticed a similar problem when I switched to my 66u. I had to up the number of connections (from 10 to 30) and got full speed then.

I'm using the latest official firmware btw. Haven't taken the plunge with the custom stuff yet.

thanks

just doing some tests

tried all different usenet ports and it looks like i HAVE to have QOS switched on for it to get to at least 8.0MB/s and using all 20 connections (astraweb)

this is with official firmware. not sure if this is a bug or not?

Think I've sussed it

The cable from n66u to my gb switch was cat5

Swapped this to cat5e and now usenet running at 12MB/s
