AMD Catalyst 12.11 Official BETA 11 Plus CAP2 12.11

If it is a small consilation, I get the same with SLI 680's. With settings turned down, it is ok but still suffering with micro stutter and the very occasional 1 second freeze. Not a game breaker but not good either.

Maybe it is the actual game? My frames are between 70 - 90 and I shouldn't be seeing this stutter.

Actually just been reading similar comments from a guy with a pair of 670's, would appear the game is broken rather then drivers :(

It runs 'ok' in single card, though with some settings dumbed down, but even in single card I get the odd graphical defect.

Same for me on 7970's and 680's, game is a mess for dual card set ups:(

"He would say that wouldn't he"

Besides yourself who uses both AMD and NV cards regularly i have seen a great many more recently which own both AMD 7xxx, NV 6xx and they are also saying that its just not true but are being ignored by the pro NV.

To those with stuttering, try un installing afterburner just to try. I found it gives me stuttering in skyrim even though frames were locked at 60. Un installed afterburner and overclocked with trixx and back to smoothness. I'm not saying it's a fix for far cry but it could be related, worth a try at least :)

I still use 301.42 for my GTX 690s which came out around the time of their launch. The reason I still use them is every driver update since for quad sli has been a downgrade and/or buggy as hell especially when installing. sadly nvidia has done squat for people who use quad sli.

Having said that my GTX 690s do run very smooth, sadly its on drivers that are 7 months out of date.

The 690s has the smoothness sauce.

OK I just removed Msi AB and installed trixx love the look of the program lol set my OC and ready to go.
Now I been using AB for very long time So I should easy tell if they a difference between the two.

Time will tell and i'll post back.

Since when? I've had both brand and to me AMD has much better colours and overall sharpness of the picture but when you get an FPS dip into the low 30's-40's it gets all juddery, with the Nvidia cards in the same scenario the game would feel a lot smoother however the colours and sharpness wasn't as good as the AMD cards but then again that's a trade off.

Since always.

Nvidia are not smoother at all, there is no juddering or anything like that @ 30 FPS.

After playing FC3 for hour odd I notice no difference between using Msi AB or Trixx. But I do like the look and use off Trixx so i'll stick with that.
I dont use any of the other AB settings so Trixx seems the better option.

As for the stuttering try changing the "Hardware Polling Period" in Afterburner from 1000ms to something higher, worked for me on both my GTX 680 & 7970.

I just checked my afterburner and noticed its at 5000, pretty sure this was the default setting as well. 7970 here.

I think I'm set at 1000 on polling?

I'll have a look and adjust later, anyone manage to get osd to work with fc3?

Yeah works for me, didn't have to do anything to get it worked either.

I'll have another look this afternoon, last night it appeared to not be functioning at all with FC3, other games I tried worked perfectly. FC3 was also pushing my cards over 80c with a quite aggressive fan profile.

Same here just worked from the off

Running 7970 Crossfire eyefinity, is there any program to help
smooth things out more during gameplay.BF3 etc ?

What settings are you using in BF3?
