Log thread: how much in a year?

The idea for me is to double my lifts in a year from September 2012, and I started at:

SQUAT: 120kg
BENCH: 80kg
DEADLIFT: 150kg

So you ca workout where I want to be. :)

Also, for the whole of 2013, I plan on reaching the following Olympic lifts:

SNATCH: 130kg
CLEAN & JERK: 170kg

Touch of the lolwut? Absolutely. But DILLIGAF? :D I compete against myself, so it's only me who'll be disappointed. ;)
 
Hard to top last year for me in terms of visible progress but lets give it a damn good go.

Drop a tiny bit more weight then gain some muscle.

Would also love to do a 10k and maybe join the local rowing club :cool:

Do you do any proper oly lifting already? If not will you be getting coaching, as 300 total is bloody good tbh
 
first one is to try and stay injury free and healthy for more than a month.

lifting wise i dont do 1rep maxes so on reps 4x8 this is what id like to be hitting.

from/to

bench 90/130
squat 100/150
deadlift 120/180
ohp 0/60 (never been a big presser so this maybe off the mark)

body weight down below 280lbs currently 320lbs (probably a little more with christmas :D)

push up's 10/100
pull up's 0/20

maybe pushing it on a couple but whats the point of setting easy targets to hit.
 
Squat: 150 --> 180
Bench: 115 --> 130
Deadlift: 165 --> 200
OHP: 80 --> 100

All that without injuring myself.. A bit optimistic for me (as I cant do anything for the first 2 months!). Would like to drop some more weight too, so should be an interesting year!

Yes and yes. Finally gotten my technique sorted for both (after nine months, give or take), and will be starting an Olympic-focused programme in the new year.

I'll be taking sessions at Core Cambridge for technique tweaking around once a month and hitting everything as hard as I can given a full-time job and a family to look after and spend time with.

It's a dream total, but I would never have dreamed I would be lifting the numbers I am currently, given that I only really started powerlifting in February this year. :)

And if I'm dreaming, icecold is being very modest. As I think YOU and Freefaller may well be. ;) :D
 
Cool. I'm tempted by some oly coaching myself to help with my overhead and general explosive power. It's all well and good progressing strict and push press strength but when it comes down to competitions and others are jerking 40kg more than my push it makes sense to be able to do the same!

Deadlift PB 200
Squat PB 130

Weight im not too sure about, im currently 79kg. I wouldnt mind getting a little lighter as long as my weights go up. But a small vain part of me thinks ill look like i dont train being too thin:p

Being very conservative there I think :D
The squat is reasonably realistic, as is the bench. The deadlift is a little more ambitious :D
Squat 200 --> 220
Bench 155 --> 165
Deads 250 --> 275

While maintaining my current weight of 82kg.

So much slower adding weight on these lifts now :)

If it all goes to plan I might get close! Well, to what they are at the moment anyway. I can't afford to get injured this year - if successful, it'll be the first full year of training I've done!

I'm pretty confident you'll hit your targets too, especially if you add a bit more weight.
 
Frankly, I don't care about 1RM, so I want to be training with
5x5 50 OHP
5x5 75 Bench
5x5 100 Squat
5x5 125 DL

3x8 Dragon Flags (currently 0)
3x8 Pull Ups
3x8 Dips

30x100 off of 1:30 for swimming (FC)

These will be achieved at different point I would expect, but they're things I'd like to achieve by the end of year. BW is currently about 63kg (5'8) and I don't really care what it goes too, but I want to get down to about 10-13% BF

BW 80kg / 70kg (or as close as I can get to it without extreme measures!)
Bench 100kg / 110kg
Squat 140kg / 160kg
Deadlift 160kg / 180kg

Or whatever combination of these I can manage to hit a 450kg total with.

Also let's chuck in a bodyweight OHP for fun.

Being a manlet also, that was why I was curious, I'm somewhere between 5'8 and 5'10 myself, but can never remember where in that list... I know it's somewhere between 5'8.5 and 5'9.5 but yeah, can't remember which :)

What does that swimming part mean? :P

Uhm, it's 30 100m front crawl off of a 1:30 rest time. It's part of my current log goals, but I reckon I'll need some stroke as well as strength improvement to get there, hence a relative conservative aim.
