7950 what voltages, clocks and model of you card you got?

Without +20% power limit temp 61-63c max
With +20% power limit temp 67c

gigabyte windforce 3 7950 1150 core 1600 memory @1.225v , runs 24/7 no issues
asic 63.33%

seems the gigabyte windforce 3 asic is low from what i can see from others too

Worst idea ever lol ;)

Im using Gigabyte Custom Bios with AB full working and powerplay.
force constant voltage KILLS idle 1w powerplay and low voltage.... very bad idea if you want to prolong the life of your card + higher temps.

Both my cards are idling @27c and 30c
if you force constant voltages i bet your idle temps are way higher, i dont recommmend using his default bios with msi ab.

I'm going to be doing this myself, because running dual monitor clocks with full volts will be rather warm. Just need a program to make a bootable usb and then it's happening. Never flashed a GFX card so we'll see how it goes!

So far my HIS is at 1149/1350 @ 1.17V, which I'm pretty happy with for 24/7 clocks.

Xfx 7950 DD with Accelero cooler. Runs 1100/1600 1.1v Max temp of 65.c under heavy load and is inaudible.

I want to install this Accelero cooler but am scared of damaging the card lol
Question
When you say heavy load witch games is this talking about?
Example BF3 my max temp always is 66c this with a OC of 1100/1500 @1.131v
But other games like Hitman or sleeping dogs my Temps hit 70c

Heavy load is furmark. Games it hardly ever goes above 55.c, sleeping dogs hits 60.c with the fans at %50.

The cooler is easy enough to fit if you take your time and well worth it for the silence alone.

I would actually buy 2x accelero coolers but they wouldnt fit in my pc system lol
the HIS coolers though are fantastic at what they do and im actually suprized not a lot of people know this.

windforce coolers are good as well but they as all other coolers blow the air within your case and its prefered to have blower coolers so that all the heat gets exhausted out the back of the system.... much prefer this method as my temps are great my cards never go over 73c maxed out with 1165+core ;) 69c or there abouts anything under 75c is perfectly fine for these cards... hell i was reading around and under 80c is perfectly fine for these cards.

You will know if the cards VRM temps are to hot as your card will freeze up.

I have found out the best game to test this current get ect are with vsync disabled on both, thats FARCRY 3 @8xaa all maxed out and metro 2033 all maxed out.
i can guarantee if your graphics card can last 30 minutes of farcry then consider it stable... as that game for me detects flaws in the voltage or clocks way faster than other games and that goes for crysis aswell.

NEVER EVER TEST FURMARK

the only thing you should test furmark for is heat buildup
and vrm temp build up

but its pointless as this program heats your card up way higher then any game out there its a pointless test.

very pointless with the 7 series cards as the GCN architecture is completely diffrent from past cards, i have found out from testing that my cards can be stable in furmark but crash/freeze in farcry 3 ?????? says a lot about furmark and these 7 series cards.

All your doing with furmark is roasting your card for no reason at all with 7 series cards
also memory is not tested enough with furmark compaired to a heave memory game like farcry 3 again maxed out 8xaa.

FURMARK to me and SHOULD BE TO YOU, is pointless. for 7 series that is, it was pretty good at detecting flaws and crashes in previous gen but not this gen.

haha think i have been drinking to meny redbulls :D

Thanks will take a look into it. Any chance this is a guide for our card video or site?

I'm running 1020 core 1450 mem with power slider at +20% on my xfire iceq boost. I see max temp of 73, idle around 53 on the main card because I run 3x24" 1920x1200 monitors which raises the idle temps a fair bit! ASIC is 83.9 and 82.3

Also going to flash a bios that will work properly with AB.

Thats a lot of VCORE you got there Chris :/ for 1150 lol
----------------------------------

Both my HIS ICEQ cards are 90+% Asic Quality.
and my 24/7 OC is :

you should be able to reduce that voltage...

i have tried many times to reduce voltage on the core but sadly it will go no lower,i have a very poor asic quality card but im happy with the volts and clock speeds i can achieve as temps seem absouletly fine and nowhere near worrying levels(63c max)

due to the cooler being very good on the wf3 i never see above 63c in the most stressful of applications.

whats the safe speeds to run the memory at? i decided to stop at 1450 but i know it will go higher but will i actually see any real difference whilist gaming going any higher?

So when I use MSI AB on my his iceq boost then the voltage is constant 1.1v? Even when the card clocks are 300/150?
Im not using +20% power slider as my temps go higher...

No you wont.
7 series cards are not bandwith limited at all even with 1200+ cores, there is a small benifit in faster memory speeds though but its not beneficial compared to core increase.
and you must be doing something as his iceQ 7950s are not voltage locked
the creator of MSI AB is just not willing to add support for our cards to AB cause there none ref cards, but if you flash a ref bios you will be able to add your card to AB support,....

Hi, only overclocked my card for first few days I had it, since then stock only.

Stock: 900\1250 @ 0.965v (0.805v idle) 52c gaming vrms 58\62c 33%fan 99%gpu.

Max OC: 1250\1250 (dont touch the memory) @ 1.219v (gpuz) 64c vrms 73\71c 49% fan
Asic: 77%.

Idle: 300\150 @ .805v 26c vrms 26\29c fan 30%. Nice cool card with good case cooling. Plays Far Cry 3 very well, which looks great on 1080p 27" by the way, see no need to overclock yet. :)

not sure what u mean regarding the his cards as mine is a wf3

yeah i have literally started to run my card on oc clocks but without voltage 1000 core/1450 memory for now as you really just dont need the power at the mo quite tempted to just run it at stock as it seems to have plenty of power for the current games.
