TV bust, will i be able to claim off the house insurance?

Yes, but only if you have accidental damage cover as part of your policy, even then, you would most likely have an excess on that, which could be anything from £50 to £250.

So like Futile says, find your policy and read it.

My tv was replaced on the insurance when my kitten knocked it off where it stood. I had accidental damage on my policy and it included damage by pets.

Short answer check your policy wording :)

If you've got accidental cover you'll be fine, I'm getting my amp sorted because of an accident that damaged it. Check your policy.

Check your policy, I added it to mine recently, the increase was sub £5/pm. Personal items can be covered outside the home too. There are limitations, speak to your insurer.

Sometimes the threads started here astonish me. It's like asking the forum how much it would cost to send a package to someone and giving no details about the item or where it's going.

What did you honestly expect to come from asking the internet if your TV was covered under your house insurance? And did you not have any idea to read the policy of the service you signed up to before someone told you? Is your next thread going to be asking why your pants have brown stains in them after you go for a dump?

Post first, think later. Even with your example, the Post Office website will probably tell them more than a forum.

It's like the thread the other day : "spec me a hat". It's not hard is it? Go to shop, find hat you like, buy it.

I'd question how worthwhile claiming would be given that I've got 42" LGs for <£300, so if your excess is anything near that, given the presumed cost increase next year as a result of claiming, plus the time/hassle...

I think people just want to talk. Others want to watch the world burn. Which are you?

I totally agree with you, as some of the spec me and asking for advice that the forum can't possibly give and would be quicker to go to the source threads are ridiculous.

I would personally speculate that the reason the OP made this thread is perhaps because given his age, maybe he is either living at home or at Uni and thus possibly isn't the one who took out a home insurance policy. Of course I could be completely wrong though.
