Help me put together a silent rig with great cooling?

Oh and in case it wasn't obvious, silence is required for critical listening reasons. I've spent a lot of time and money sound treating my room for the best possible listening environment, it seems a shame to have a big box whirring away in the corner! The H100i really isn't cutting it.

Could you not run computer in another room via hole drilled in wall? I know a music producer who does just this.

Going for a custom loop won't improve the noise issue, as thats reliant on the Fans..

Just replace the Fans on the H100i, The SP120's are great. I have two of them on my H50 and the only way i hear them is if i press my ear up against one (i wound't recommend it, it hurts. :) )

Custom loop can easily improve the noise issue as it can use more efficient heat transfer all round the loop to enable the use of quieter fans for the same cooling.

Fair point. The noise won't be any less on a loop but the cooling will be better.:)

The h100i can achieve some great over clocks though.

Are you sure? Even with my fans running at 500 rpm the thing is noisy, and it doesn't SEEM like it's the fans causing the noise at those speeds. How much quieter can the SP120's be at those kind of speeds?

Or maybe there's something wrong with my h100i...

You're on the same page as me.

So it's a question of how many fans at what speed can I get away with, without hearing them.

And then it's what kind of radiator setup will cool an overclocked 3930k with the above fan setup.

I don't mind going with a huge radiator in a huge case either.
