Overuse of the word/saying "REALLY?" - is really annoying

It's not just the word used in the OP, but Americanism has spread to stuff like dates. Like we say today's date is 21st Feb but an increasing amount of people are saying Feb 21st.

Cheque as check.

Cash point as ATM.

Etc.

We're nicking a lot of French words too though. Tariff instead of bill, verify instead of check.
 
I really don't understand the overuse of the word really.

It really annoys me quite a bit, you really can't comprehend my issue with the overuse of the word unless you've been in my shoes.

I once helped a really stupid college friend with his assignment on Web Security, I spent a really long time looking through it and I found a total of 57 'really''s. I found this really stupid, the constant use of really got really frustrating as I was just repeating really non-stop.

He really could have just written..

"Really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really..."

Over and over and it really would have had the same result on me - in fact it would have been really better for me because it would have really made my job easier when filtering through.

Really though, why do people really overuse the word really?

Really guys? We're better than this, really better.

Right - if everyone used this wouldnt that be just as annoying.
