AMD FX-6100, AMD FX-6300 system for around the £300 mark?

Hi guys.

Im looking to build a new system and want to keep the cost down to the £300 - £350 mark. The system wont be used for gaming but it will have heavy use with adobe software and video rendering, so im looking for a work horse rather than a gaming system.

Iv been looking at the AMD FX-6300 and AMD FX-6100 and the price difference is only about 10-15 so first, is it worth it or should i just go for the 6100?

Second if anyone has these chips let me know what you think of them.

And finally can someone tell me how to paste your basket into the forum so i can get some advice on what component iv been looking at so far.

What do you need,

Including case and PSU? Windows? Monitor?

6300 is hugely better than 6100 in my opinion. That is the one to go for. Also go for an ASUS 99x mobo if you can afford it.
 
As above, what parts do you need and is there anything you could perhaps salvage from an older PC?

The 6300 is based off the Piledriver architecture while the 6100 is based off the older Bulldozer architecture, so the 6300 will perform better. Mix that with the higher stock/turbo clock speed and it's silly to even consider the 6100.

Price difference on OcUK is only £6 as well :p.
 
I'm OK for an OS i have a DVD drive and a few sata HDD's. Don't think the PSU will be any good. Its a 300watt. Ill most likely need a case also.

The plan is to get the system up and running as cheap as posable with bog standard motherboard and graphics then changing these as i go. Would like to get like 1 dimm of good quality RAM in 8gb or larger.

Sorry about that. But i think the other threat was asking about the intel i5 but since then iv had a look and it looks like the AMD has a lot more bang for your buck so this threat is just asking about the 6100 6300 and some advice regarding the motherboard and other components to go with the AMD. I can delete the other threat if you want?
